Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on them
and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them. Jesus
said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." When he had placed
his hands on them, he went on from there.

THE IHM CONNECTION

IHM also has a strong local connection to NPH Honduras. Two current parishioners, Bob and Susie Fuselier, lived and worked at the orphanage (with their children Jenny and Michael) in 1988 and 1989. They returned to the States for the birth of their second son, Bobby, and lived in Louisiana until moving to Los Alamos in 1993. Feeling that they had received much more than they had given, and knowing that they were tied to the children and people of NPH-Honduras for life, they continued to stay involved with the organization. When Bob asked Fr. Brown if he would be interested in involving the parish of IHM with the orphanage, Fr. Brown was immediately interested. In January of 1996, he visited Rancho Santa Fe in Honduras Both impressed and moved by what he saw, Fr. Brown agreed to support the work being done at NPH in Honduras Later that year, IHM parish adopted NPH-Honduras as its sister parish.
Since that time, members of the parish have supported NPH through generous donations, and by volunteering to help at the orphanage. In the United States NPH is supported by NPH USA, an organization dedicated to supporting the needs of orphaned, abandoned and disadvantaged children living in NPH homes. Since 1997, a group of students and adults have visited Rancho Santa Fe in the summer to help out with work projects and to work with and visit the children.
